POSITION SUMMARY:
The perfect candidate will work collaboratively with the Lead Brewer to produce high quality product with efficiency for our brewery. We also produce a significant amount of co-pack products, hard seltzer, RTDs, and other beverages.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Filters and transfers all finished product.
  • Blends and carbonates all product.
  • Help produce high quality wort and other products on our 60 bbl brewhouse to meet production goals
  • Promotes an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork within the department and the company.
  • Effectively presents beverage production in weekly cross department meetings regarding Quality and Production.
  • Advocates a continuous improvement culture throughout his/her team.
  • Assists in development and updating of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as necessary.
  • Holds self and packaging folks accountable for adhering to SOPs and maintaining a sanitary and micro-biologically stable work environment.
  • Facilitates future growth of the brewery through continuous optimization of current processes.
  • Maintain brewing, cellaring, filtration, packaging and other related documentation in an organized and complete manner.
  • Provide hands on relief of all positions as necessary.


REQUIRED SOFTWARE/HARDWARE USED:

  • MS Office products; including Excel, Word, and Power Point
  • Experience operating and managing an automated 60 BBL brew system utilizing factory talk, or similar technology.
  • Windows 10 OS.
  • Drop Box and  project management experience a plus.
  • ERP Ekos or Orchestrated Beer a plus.


THE ULTIMATE CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:

  • 2+ Years of cellar/brewing experience. Brewing hard seltzer experience preferred but not necessary. 
  • College degree and certification from an accredited brewing program, with a focus in microbiology, food science or chemical engineering a plus.
  • Strong mechanical and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to work unsupervised and manage your own time and the time of others effectively
  • Focus on quality and consistency of finished product

Maintenance Tech

JOB TITLE: Maintenance Tech

  • Provide technical support to production assembly machines and to other automated equipment

POSITION SUMMARY:

• Assemble and ship orders for distributors in accordance with SOPs
• Organize and maintain shipment paperwork.
• Safely load product on truck picking up product.
• Report keg movements in ERP

Warehouse Operations

• Maintain a SAFE work environment and follow our safety manual and work practices.
• Conduct daily maintenance checks on fork lift / pallet jack and record in log.
• Drive the “Life is Brewing” box truck with company SOPs, and Tennessee DOT.
• Conduct daily maintenance checks on truck and keep detailed record inside truck.
• Report any damage or maintenance issues regarding truck to Maintenance Director
• Conduct monthly maintenance on forklift (grease).
• Be detailed oriented: maintain an efficient, clean and organized warehouse.
• Safely unload and organize raw material deliveries.
• Transfer raw materials and packaging according to brew schedule.
• Maintain valid driver’s license.

Inventory Management

• Work with the Lead Brewer, and Packaging team to schedule transfers of finished product to the warehouse and packaging material to the brewery.
• Work with DOBO to correct and troubleshoot inventory inconsistencies and anomalies.
• Monthly warehouse physical inventories, and spot inventories as needed by production or Inventory Manager.
Other Duty’s
• Pop packaging material for packaging
• Fill in on the packaging line for Packaging tech
• Pull Keg orders for taproom and manage brewery walk in cooler.
• Clean kegs for the packaging team and coordinate with the director of brewing operations on volume needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Forklift knowledge a plus.
• Warehouse experience a must.
• Must be able to lift 150 pounds to the waist and 55 lbs above the head.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with no previous alcohol related offenses.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Must be an effective communicator.

The perfect Lab Tech will work collaboratively with the Director of Brewing Operations to produce high quality product with efficiency for our three brands; Mantra Artisan Ales, Steel Barrel Brewing Co,  Humulus Project and all our Co-pack partners. The Steel Barrel location is a state of the art brewing campus on an 84 acre property designed around fermentation science. You will be working with MTSU’s Fermentation science program daily as they have an onsite facility at our location.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Collection and management of samples according to the sampling plan.
• Preparation of stock solutions and media / inoculating and incubating samples.
• Developing new microbiological approaches / microbiological troubleshooting.
• Maintenance of all laboratory data.
• SOP development and maintenance.
• Cleaning and decontamination of the laboratory.
• Helping as required to maintain all quality standards within the laboratory.
• Help the head brewer manage brewery operations of our 60BBL brew system crafting 12k+ BBLS per year.

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for an Accounting Manager that has an incredible attention to detail that matches the detail orientated standard that we have at Life is Brewing.

The Accounting Manager oversees, manages and/or supervises the operation of assigned areas involved with various accounting functions; maintains and monitors effective internal controls to ensure accurate financial information, safeguards LIB assets, and complies with brewing regulations, accounting standards, and LIB policy; develops and implements strategic planning consistent with the LIB’s mission and strategic plan; approves, develops, and/or implements methods, procedures, controls, systems, and standards for efficient, effective, timely and accurate brewery operations; conducts general sales analysis and recommends and implements policy and procedures to improve related accounting and administrative functions; performs a variety of complex accounting functions including sales analysis and cash flow projections.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work directly with senior management and personnel across all parts of the company.
• Manage financial operations and accounting of the brewery’s tap rooms (Franklin and Murfreesboro location )
• Manage invoicing and management of accounts receivable with the brewery’s distributors.
• Handle all day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping functions in the company’s new inventory and financial management software, Orchestrated Beer.
• Manage on-boarding of new employees, prepare bi-weekly payroll through ADP, and manage general human resources issues.
• Manage accounts payable and payment of vendors.
• Manage accounting of inventories for both the brewery and taproom, including month-end inventory counting and valuation procedures.
• Manage month-end closing procedures and prepare financial statements.
• Prepare periodic financial, inventory management, and product profitability reports for management.
• Prepare federal brewing excise tax and state tax returns.
• Assist the company in the implementation and management of financial controls.
• Assist senior management with the preparation and management of company projections, budgets, and other special FP&A projects.
• Coordinate advanced sales trend analysis of various accounting in orchestrated beer for cash flow analysis.
• Interpret analytical results from our two CRM’s and assess potential impact to the brewery and company and provide recommendations to the head brewer and/or COO to take action based on results.

Steel Barrel Brewing Co is a new 60 bbl fully automated 5 vessel brewery that broke ground in the spring of 2017 with an estimated date of completion in December of this year. The new facility is the largest craft brewery in the state of Tennessee.

Mantra Artisan Ales is a collaboration with COO Derrick Morse and Celebrity Chef Maneet Chauhan. We are focused on flavor and the culinary aspect of brewing. With beers like, Saffron IPA, Japa (a milk chai stout), and Cassis (a whiskey barrel-aged Flanders style red on tart cherries and black currant). Mantra is focused on brewing with unique ingredients to develop full flavored brews. Most of Mantra’s clean beer production will be moved to Steel Barrel’s facility with all the spontaneous and wild beers being produced in Franklin.
Hop Springs is an 84 acre farm that will have an 8 acre hop field, 18 hole disc golf course, amphitheater, taproom, orchard, mountain bike trail, wedding venue, cabins, and of course a brewery.

JOB TITLE: Life is Brewing Brew Sage (Brand Ambassador)
LOCATION: All over middle Tennessee
REPORTS TO: Director of Sales
POSITION TYPE: Part time, hourly

POSITION SUMMARY:

Life is Brewing Brew Sage’s work as brand representatives at various events and retailers where LIB beer is served or promoted- such as beer and wine festivals, charity fundraisers, on and off-premise accounts.  The brew sage will be responsible for setting up equipment, table display, pouring beer, and educating consumers on our beers and brand identities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage and educate consumers on brewing process, craft beer culture and LIB Brands
  • Pour beer tastings and/or facilitate dry demonstrations.
  • Execute and set up LIB’s presence at off-site events and retailers.
  • Secure and transport equipment, beer, and promotional materials to and from event sites.
  • Set up, break down, and clean pouring stations.
  • Maintain all event equipment including but not limited to Jockey Box, LIB branded tents, banners, and table runners.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Prior knowledge of draft operations
  • Cicerone Beer Server certification, preferred. Must pass beer server certification within one month of employment.
  • Basic sales skills.
  • Must be enthusiastic, engaging, beer savvy, and organized.
  • Must be able to work Thursday through Sunday mostly in the evening and night.
  • Must have a clean driving record, valid driver license, and reliable transportation.
  • Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds independently and up to 50 pounds with assistance.
